Life Sports Center, opened in 1982, is designed primarily for recreational and intramural activities. The original facility includes a tournament-size basketball court with bleacher seating for 3,500; a 32,000-square-foot, multi-use field house for basketball, tennis, jogging and other activities; a six-lane, 25-meter swimming pool; and racquetball and squash courts. A three-level, 39,000 square foot addition to the Life Sports Center, was opened in August 2004. Included in the addition are a large free weights facility, an expanded cardio-fitness area, new facilities for health services and counseling, training rooms, locker rooms and coaches' offices. The Life Sports Center addition overlooks Scotty Wood Stadium and Frank Marino Field. Constructed in 1998, the Stadium features lighting, bleacher seating for 3,000 and an AstroTurf field for use by football, field hockey and lacrosse surrounded by an eight-lane all-weather track.
The John Deitrich Field House was constructed in 1982 and refurbished in 2004 and 2014. The spacious field house hosts tennis matches when weather precludes outdoor play and is the winter home of the track and field teams. The facility serves as a secondary practice area for all Muhlenberg teams. A netting system enables multiple teams to practice safely at the same time. In the summer of 2014, the entire field house floor was resurfaced with state of the art full pour BSS 1000 Hobart texture IAAF certified 13mm track surface.
The Wood Dining Commons has hosted Galas, wedding receptions and fundraisers. Our spacious, well appointed space can accommodate up to 600 guests. High ceilings and an overabundance of windows and fireplace makes this space particularly warm and inviting.
